The Borneo Post (12.07.2011)

KUCHING: She was not among the big money winners but Sarawakian Jacqueline Sijore Jenelee enjoyed another victorious outing with the national Elite bowling squad who swept the top three positions at the San Marino Open 2011 over the weekend.

Jacqueline, who qualified for the finals of the European Bowling Tour event in 12th position, lost out to team-mate Adrian Ang in the second game (225-202, 209-279) of the Finals 3.

Adrian in turn was beaten by Guangzhou Asian Games two-gold medallist Alex Liew in the Final.

Alex, the most senior bowler in the national Elite squad, proved that he is as good as ever by capturing the San Marino Cup and winning a handsome payout of Euro 10,000 (RM42,565).

Adrian pocketed Euro 6,000 (RM25,539) while Esther Cheah won Euro 3,400 (RM14,472) for finishing third and ending up as the best women’s bowler at the tournament.

A total of 221 bowlers from all over the world competed at the event held at the Gold Rose’n Bowl Bowling Center in the San Marino Republic.

The performance of the Malaysian girls, especially Jacqueline and Esther, who had qualified for the finals in 6th place overall, bodes well for their chances in September’s World Women Championships in Hong Kong and the 2011 SEA Games in Jakarta in December.
